After week one of the new season, all four teams in the NFC West remain unbeaten – the only division in the league to be in that position.
With a number of stellar performances, who made the Ninety-Nine Yards division Players of the Week.
Offensively, Kyler Murray drove the Cardinals down field in the fourth quarter, on debut, and snatched a tie against the Lions, while Todd Gurley reminded us of his superstar running ability.
Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball both Richard Sherman and Akhello Witherspoon picked off Jameis Winston for touchdowns of their own in the 49ers win against Tampa.
But who topped our list of leading performers this week?
NFC West Offensive Player of the Week – Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals)
The 16-year veteran receiver ignited a struggling Cards offence on Sunday night, catching several vital big passes in the game-tying drive, including the final touchdown.
By his own admission, he has had to adjust to fit into new coach Kliff Kingsbury’s offence, but he was there for rookie quarterback Murray when he needed him against the Lions.
Fitz finished with 113 yards and a touchdown on his eight receptions.
As Murray and Kingsbury work their way through early teething problems, they will be looking to rely on the consistent vet to come up big for them and he showed on Sunday that he is more than capable of doing so.
NFC West Defensive Player of the Week – Cory Littleton (Los Angeles Rams)
The linebacker has made incredible improvements since entering the league as an undrafted free agent three years ago.
Starting out as a special teams player, he now has an important part to play in Wade Phillips’ defence and will be looking to showcase his considerable talents in a contract year.
Littleton forced a fumble early in the game, punching it from the arms of DJ Moore and swiftly recovered it. Ending the game with 14 tackles, he also picked off Cam Newton in the fourth quarter, perfectly reading the signal caller and beating Greg Olsen to the ball.
If he continues as he has started, the Rams will need to tie him down quickly before his value rises too much or he has his head turned.
NFC West Special Teams Player of the Week – Trent Sherfield (Arizona Cardinals)
In a week where all eyes were on the new look Cardinals offence, wide receiver Sherfield shone out on special teams, with two particularly superb plays.
The undrafted star was the gunner on punts, chasing down the Lions returner Jamal Agnew early in the game and pinning them down close to their end zone.
Then in the second quarter, as Agnew’s poor display continued, Sherfield was on hand to pounce on a muffed punt and give his offence back on the eight-yard line.
Unfortunately, Coach Kingsbury’s play calling meant the Cards failed to get into the end zone, but Sherfield will be looking to continue his fine opening day display as his side find their feet.
