Joe Burrow has evolved into a top 5 quarterback in the NFL and his stats back it up. Burrow put up 4475 yards and 35 touchdowns in his 16 games. Both put him in the top 5 at the position and 35 touchdowns ties Josh Allen for 2nd in the league.

With Joe Burrow under center the Bengals will be and rightly should be confident of winning any game. He is a player that can now win games for you. The key though, is keeping him upright. In the 3 games this season where he has been sacked 5 or more times, the Bengals have lost all 3.

When on his feet he just finds ways of winning games and making things happen. Burrow is still to lose a game in January in his career and has a knack for getting it done in the big games. He is a proven winner who can also perform on the biggest of stages.

Motivated

The Cincinnati Bengals take on the Buffalo Bills in the wildcard round, in a game which will be filled with emotion. Their week 17 game against the Bills was cancelled due to the Damar Hamlin situation. And while the Bengals have been respectful, they are playing with a chip on their shoulder.

The NFL put together a contingency plan with an uneven number of games being played in the AFC. That plan included a potential neutral site for the AFC Championship should the Bills play the Chiefs in the Championship Game. It even included the never out of fashion coin toss, that would have taken place if the Ravens beat the Bengals in week 18 to see who would host their game on Wildcard weekend.

The one scenario that was left out? That was if the Bengals met the Bills in the Divisional Round. Had the Bengals gone on to win their cancelled game against the Bills, their playoff seeding would have been reversed. So the Bengals feel they have been the loser in this situation and they feel they have been disrespected.

It has led to the Bengals being annoyed and upset with players turning to social media to voice their frustrations. It even led to Joe Mixon doing a coin-flip touchdown celebration in week 18 that consequently cost him a $13,261 fine.

Momentum

Seeing out the regular season the Cincinnati Bengals won 8 straight games. You have to say that they are peaking at the right time. After a sluggish start which saw them start the season 5-4, there were questions over Zac Taylor and this Cincinnati Bengals team. But in the NFL it is what you do in January and February that matters. You cant win a Super Bowl in October.

The Bengals also carry the momentum knowing they can beat all of the teams they could face. Joe Burrow continues to have Patrick Mahomes‘ number. Winning the previous 3 meetings and the Bengals have won 7 of their last 8 meetings with the Chiefs. They would go to Arrowhead with no fear. To get there they will have to beat the Buffalo Bills, another team that the Bengals won’t be afraid of. After the Bills’ struggle against Miami’s receivers, expect the Bengals to be aggressive in their distribution to their offensive weapons.

The Bengals know that they are one of the top teams in the NFL and are not afraid to face anyone. Their Super Bowl window is wide open and after finishing as runners-up last season, can Joe Burrow lead the Bengals to their first ever Super Bowl victory?
