Here is a 7 round Houston Texans mock draft for 2023.
Using our mock draft simulator, here are the players who could be in play for the Houston Texans in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Even though this does not include trades it does give an indication as to who may be available when the Texans pick.
Here is your Houston Texans Mock Draft
ROUND 1: PICK 2 – BRYCE YOUNG – QB – ALABAMA
While there is talk of the Texans not taking a QB. Surely they can’t go into the 2023 season with another year of Davis Mills or Case Keenum!
ROUND 1: PICK 12 – LUKAS VAN NESS – DE – IOWA
Van Ness is another player that makes too much sense for Houston. A jacked-up, versatile d-lineman who can develop and refine his skills under DeMeco Ryan’s.
ROUND 2: PICK 33 – JALIN HYATT – WR – TENNESSEE
The Texans need to add juice and speed to their receiving core and Jalin Hyatt brings exactly that. A prospect with electric speed, he can be the field stretcher in this offence.
ROUND 3: PICK 65 – LUKE WYPLER – IOL – OHIO ST
WYPLER may be a true center prospect but he is one of the top centers in this class and allows the Texans to move their offensive line around and get their top 5 players on the field
ROUND 3: PICK 73 – BYRON YOUNG – DE – TENNESSEE
As you can see from this Mock Draft, it’s all about loading up on good players for the Texans. Byron Young showed masses of ability while at Tennessee and will be a starter in year 1 for the Texans.
ROUND 4: PICK 104 – HENRY TO’OTO’O – LB – ALABAMA
Henry To’oTo’o fits great with the Texans and should be a consistent, solid starter for years to come. A player with great leadership and communication he can be a vocal leader on this team.
ROUND 5: PICK 161 – NICK SALDIVERI – OL – OLD DOMINION
Nick Saldiveri should go higher than this, but in this simulation he was available. A tackle in college who projects best as a guard, he has the ability to see the field right away in his rookie year.
ROUND 6: PICK 188 – IVAN PACE JR – LB – CINCINNATI
Ivan Pace is an absolute mauler of a blitzer. While there may be some question marks over his coverage ability, in the sixth round he is absolutely worth a flyer.
ROUND 6: 201 – MEKHI BLACKMON – CB – USC
When you pick this late on, it is about selecting players you can develop Blackmon is exactly that and is better than he is being given credit for.
ROUND 6: PICK 203 – CAMERON LATU – TE – ALABAMA
Another Alabama guy. These prospects come with the right mentality and are used to winning. It signals a culture change for the Texans and with Latu’s blocking and pass-catching ability, he would be a great addition to their room this late on.
ROUND 7: PICK 230 – RAKIM JARRETT – WR – MARYLAND
Rakim Jarrett is an under-the-radar receiver prospect who will be able to get production at the next level. Picking him this late on gives you special teams and scheme flexibility.
ROUND 7: PICK 259 – TAVIUS ROBINSON – DE – OLE MISS
A player who has traits you can work with. He is long and rangy and with some development has a chance to develop into a starter.
