Here is a 7 round Detroit Lions mock draft for 2023.
Using our mock draft simulator, here are the players who could be in play for the Detroit Lions in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Even though this does not include trades it does give an indication as to who may be available when the Lions pick.
Here is your Detroit Lions Mock Draft
Round 1: Pick 6 – Lukas Van Ness – Edge – Iowa
Lukas Van Ness. Aidan Hutchinson. Two jacked dudes with relentless motors playing on either side of the defensive line… sounds like a Dan Campbell defense right?
Round 1: Pick 18 – Deonte Banks – CB – Maryland
Jeff Okudah has been shipped to Atlanta. The Lions need help at the position and Banks is arguably the best in the draft. The Lions had a dreadful defense last season. A double dip of defenders in the first round is a sound idea.
Round 2: Pick 48 – Jack Campbell – LB – Iowa
Jack Campbell is a big-bodied, hard-hitting linebacker. He’s built perfectly for a Dan Campbell defense. He’s considered by some to be the best linebacker in the draft, but it’s hard to see him and Drew Sanders going in the first, so one of them could fall nicely for Detroit.
Round 2: Pick 55 – Tucker Kraft – TE – South Dakota State
Kraft has a skillset that could make him a decent NFL tight end. He has good size and athleticism. Detroit never replaced TJ Hockenson, Tucker Kraft is not the answer, but it’s a start.
Round 3: Pick 81 – Tanner McKee – QB – Stanford
The quarterback class is top-heavy. Detroit has much bigger needs than QB to take on early, but McKee is arguably the best of the rest and could be a developmental project.
Round 5: Pick 152 – Zacch Pickens – DL – South Carolina
Detroit needs all the help they can get on the defensive side of the ball. Adding more depth on the D-Line can’t be a bad move.
Round 5: Pick 159 – Ronnie Bell – WR – Michigan
Ronnie Bell could make a good slot receiver and return specialist. Always good value at this point of the draft. He could add a nice crease to the Lions’ receiving core.
Round 6: Pick 183 – Juice Scruggs – IOL – Penn State
When in doubt, add depth to the O-Line. Scruggs can play either center or guard. His performance at the combine could mean he comes off the board earlier than here. But the Lions could get a relative steal here.
Round 6: Pick 194 – Mohamed Ibrahim – RB – Minnesota
It looks like D’Andre Swift will be the premier back in Detroit next year. He hasn’t quite been the back people thought he could be coming out of Georgia and is entering a contract year. His replacement, or backup, could be taken here.
