Can we beat the bookie? Ninety Nine Yards writer Brian Dickie makes his picks for Week 11.
Dallas Cowboys -6.5 v Detroit Lions
This started at -3 earlier in the week but following the rumours and then confirmation of Matthew Stafford being out the Cowboys are just short of a score favourites to beat the Lions in Detroit.
Dak is clearly thriving in Kellen Moore’s offence sitting at 2nd in the league with 2777 yards so far this year. He’ll be looking forward to playing a Detroit defence that made Mitchell Trubisky look good last week (173 yards, 3TDs, 0INTs).
Arizona Cardinals +11 V San Francisco 49ers
I fully expect the ‘Niners to win this one however at +11 the Cardinals have a good shot at making the spread.
The 49ers are coming off a 70 minute game Monday and will miss starting TE George Kittle and recently acquired WR Emmanual Sanders as both are out.
The ‘Cards have proven they can score, averaging 24.7 yards/game in their last 6 outings.
Oakland Raiders -11.5 v Cincinnati Bengals
Sorry Bengals fans, not only are Cincy 0-9 but they stink. They’ve replaced bang average Andy Dalton with 4th round rookie Ryan Finley who’s struggled so far and it looks like their star receiver AJ Green will be missing too, best of luck Ryan.
The Raiders on the other hand are coming off a two game winning streak and pushing for a shot at a wild card slot come January.
Derrek Carr and co. Should move the ball through the Bengals porous defence. I simply can’t see the Bengals doing the same in return, -11.5 should be covered.
Ninety Nine Yards has some great writers and if you like Brian’s style you can find some examples of his work here, here, here, here, and here.
