Beat the Bookies! Our gambling picks for week 4
Reading Time: 2 minutes.

It’s already week 4! By the time this week’s over we’ll be a quarter of the way through the season, crazy! Jamie joins me again for this weeks picks.

Last week we went 2-0 on our under even picks but the Cowboys fell a few points short on our +5.5 and over 55.5 points punt; sure could have done without that safety or those two missed point attempts, thanks Cowboys! A nice reminder why we always bet responsibly!

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Buccs to win & Over 44.5 points total (15/8)

Bryan: Brady and co. are on a 2 game winning street and are 3/10 favourites to win this one too. Rookie Justin Herbert will be chasing his first career win against elder statesman, league legend, Tom Brady. At nearly half his age, Herbert will have his work cut out.

The visiting Chargers are a little lost; after a win in week 1 against the Bengals they too the Chiefs to overtime then stumbled against the Chargers and sit at 1-2. Tampa have averaged 29.5 in their two wins the past fortnight while LA have averaged 18 over that stretch. Some of that will see us through tonight.

Minnesota Vikings +3.5 vs. Houston Texans (10/11)

Jamie: I’m not sure the Vikings win, but +4.5 is too many points against an under-performing Texans offence. Both teams have had tough starts and sit at the bottom of the pile at 0-3. The Vikings have been improving week on week; Dalvin Cook is rolling, Jefferson seemed to find his feet last week and the pass rush is still an issue for opposing O-lines. They threw the game away last week to a team better than the Texans. I’ll take Minnesota with the points.

The Texan’s offence, sans Hopkins, has struggled so far this year. They take on Minnesota later today, both teams hoping for their first win of the year. Image from si.com

Seattle Seahawks -5.5 vs. Miami Dolphins (10/11)

Jamie: The number should be enough to explain this pick, but allow be to just clarify how mad it is to give Seattle less than a touchdown over Miami;

Russell Wilson is on another planet this year; 3 games in and he’s thrown 14 TDS, has 78.3% completion rate and 925 yards. He’s 3-0 and is ripping good teams to shreds. Take the Seahawks, it’s a lock!

The Seattle Seahawks are 3-0 and averaging over 37 points a game. Miami are 1-2 and averaging just 23.3 points a game. Image from seattletimes.com
