Bo knows yardage: Calgary Stampeders’ have new all-time leading passer
19 days have passed since we published an article detailing the passing yardage leaders for every CFL team. We knew as we were writing it that it would soon change. Because Calgary QB Bo Levi Mitchell was just 361 yards away from tying the record. And we assumed he would surpass it fairly soon.
Now number 19 has passed the milestone. Because in a 40-41 shootout loss to the BC Lions this past weekend, Mitchell passed the career mark of former Calgary QB Henry Buriss.
Mitchell, who has been in the CFL for 10 seasons, (all of them with Calgary), now holds the franchise record with 32,392 yards passing. As he is the team’s starter this is a record that will only grow.
Burris’ total of 32,191 yards, was set during his two times at the club from 1998 to 1999 and again from 2005 to 2011. He finished with over 60,000 yards passing in the CFL.
Bo knows success in Calgary. He already holds the team’s all-time pass completion mark, and is just 16 TD’s away from the franchise all-time mark.
He also owns the best winning percentage among starting quarterbacks in league history. Not to mention he has won two Grey Cups with the Stamps. And twice been named the league’s Most Outstanding Player.
