  • Height: 6’4”
  • Weight: 315 lbs
  • College: Wisconsin
  • Year: Senior
  • Position: Defensive Tackle

STRENGTHS

  • Is an incredibly versatile interior defensive lineman. May be best as a 1 or at 3-tech
  • You could line him up at the nose if needed because he is so adaptable and resourceful
  • A huge player
  • A very dense frame
  • Size, length, strength
  • He is a problem in the run game. A beast of a run stuffer who has incredibly potent power
  • Wins with pure strength
  • A decent bag of skill moves and has a good go-to swim move
  • Much more athleticism than his size
  • Good enough burst off the line of scrimmage and wins almost every time when he is first off the snap and attacking centers.
  • While he wins with power it is the quickness in how he attacks and uses that power that separates him.
  • Pushes linemen back with his pure power. Is an absolute tank and carries that intense toughness and robustness
  • He uses his weight extremely well. He is physically imposing and will bully over the middle

WEAKNESSES

  • He could play with more balance. Needs to work from his base as he can lunge into blocks.
  • Needs to learn to control his leverage as he can lean too far forward and can not correct.
  • His footwork needs to be more active as he can get stuck on his heels.
  • Will likely start as a rotational player in the NFL.
  • Needs to become more valuable on passing downs

SUMMARY

A huge, versatile, powerful player, Keeanu Benton will be a riser through the NFL Draft process. Especially after a stellar week at the Senior Bowl, where he was possibly the best defensive lineman at the game. A distinguished run blocker, his power and size mean he swallows up gaps and is extremely difficult to move. While Benton has room to develop as a pass rusher, he has quick hands and strong skill moves that allow him to get home. A player who will likely go around the 3rd round, Benton will be able to make an impact on a team who needs more top-end depth in their defensive line rotation.
