He has absolutely no pass-rush plan. He plays out of control but what he can do for a prospect so raw gives a lot of hope.
He will need an awful lot of developing and coaching in the NFL. But, many will fall in love with his physical make-up and special strength profile.
Isn’t overly flexible or bendy. Will likely be more of a true DE rather than an outside linebacker who you will ask to turn the edge at the next level.
SUMMARY
Lukas Van Ness is a riser through the NFL Draft process with many expecting the inexperienced, raw prospect to return to school. While he is extremely raw and you shouldn’t expect much from him in year 1, what he could become will have coaches and teams enamoured. His physicality, elite strength and what he is already with little experience, are very enticing. You can expect Van Ness to be in the early to mid-first round conversation and may even shoot up even more after he has completed athletic testing.
