Why the Buffalo Bills Will Win the Super Bowl by Finlay Halliday

Why the Buffalo Bills Will Win the Super Bowl by Finlay Halliday
Reading Time: 3 minutes.

Being the favorites to win in professional sports doesn’t always result in success however,
in the case of the Buffalo Bills, success is only three games away. Bills Mafia are in search of
their first Super Bowl and this year will finally see them get their hands on the Lombardi
trophy in my opinion. This is why:

Damar Hamlin

We’ve seen numerous examples of sports teams using fallen teammates as motivation to
dig deep and pull wins out of the bag. Such as Denmark’s trip to the semi-finals in Euro 2020
after star player, Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest during a match against Finland.
In the case of Bills safety Damar Hamlin, he went into cardiac arrest during Buffalo’s week
17 game at the Cincinnati Bengals. Thanks to the quick work of both trainers and medics on
the field and from the medical professionals at the UC Medical Centre in Cincinnati, Hamlin
is healthy and has been at the Bills’ facility “almost daily” as said by Head Coach Sean
McDermott.

After Nyheim Hines took the opening kickoff of their week 18 game against the Chicago
Bears for a 96 yard touchdown on the very next play after Hamlin went down, I think it’s
safe to say that the Bills are using their teammate as motivation which will play a huge
factor in their Super Bowl journey.

Bills Mafia

A lot of people disregard the impact of playing in front of 70,000+ people who are shouting
and spurring you on. But when it comes to the Bills fans, their loyalty is non disputable. Even
after four straight losses in the Super Bowl and numerous years of rebuilding and
mediocrity, Highmark Stadium stays at full capacity from week 1 through to week 18.
I haven’t even factored in the typical negative 10 degree weather and continuous snowfall
yet, and still these fans still go and root on their Bills. The Bills have home field advantage
over the Bengals and if the Jaguars can overcome Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, then the
Buffalo will play at Highmark in the AFC Championship game which is massively in their
favour.

The Offence

Easily the biggest reason as to why the Bills are going to win their first Super Bowl is Josh
Allen and the offence that Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey has put together. Dorsey was
promoted to OC on February 1 st , 2022, replacing Brian Daboll, who became the Head Coach
of the New York Giants. His record as OC is 13-3-0 and his offensive unit ended the regular
season ranked second in total offence (397.6 yards per game) and scoring offence (26.8).
I’m going to talk about the elephant in the room – otherwise known as Josh Allen – shortly
but first let’s look at his offensive options and we’ll start with the best of those options in
wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Diggs ranked 4th in receptions in the NFL with 108 catches and 5th in receiving yards as he
racked up an impressive 1,429 receiving yards this season. He also had the joint 3 rd most
receiving touchdowns as he caught a career high 11 TD’s.

WR Gabe Davis is also a huge threat for NFL secondaries as he racked up a career high 48
receptions for 836 yards and 7 touchdown catches. Also, let’s not forget that incredible 98
yard touchdown play against the Steelers in week 5. Running Back Devin Singletary also had
a career year as he ran for 819 yards and had 38 receptions for 280 yards totalling a career
high 1,099 scrimmage yards.

The main man

And finally, the man you’ve been waiting for me to talk about, Buffalo QB Josh Allen. Every offensive
play starts and ends with Josh Allen, every good and bad thing they do starts and ends with
Josh Allen and their first Super Bowl victory will be because of Josh Allen. He threw for 4,283
yards and had the joint 2 nd most passing touchdowns with 35. He’s only the 6 th player in NFL
history to have 4,000+ pass yards and 35+ TD passes in 3 career seasons. He had the joint 3 rd
most rushing touchdowns among QB’s with 7 and he’s the 1 st ever quarterback with 6+
rushing TD’s in 5 straight seasons. He also has 12 TD’s (11 passing and 1 rushing) and a
rating of 116.4 in 4 career home playoff starts.

When I said everything starts and ends with Josh Allen, I wasn’t exaggerating. He is easily
top 3 QB’s in the league at the moment and when you partner him with the 2 nd best defence
in points allowed per game (17.9 PPG) then it should be easy to see why the Buffalo Bills are
going to win Super Bowl 57.

The Bills will win the Super Bowl, but incase you want some alternatives; check out our CowboysBengals49ers and Giants articles for some added entertainment.
